I felt it important to let the user know the thought process behind this database. It is not simply adding teams or leagues randomly or turning a realistic database into something completely fantasy. A lot of thought has been put into every decision - whether it be tradition, geography, real-life trends, or idealized scenarios - and the result, I hope, is something both immediately recognizable to a hockey fan yet offering something new and interesting at the same time.
